Job duties:
- Supervise and care for child in employer's residence
- Bathe, dress and feed child
- Plan, prepare and serve meals for child and perform other light housekeeping duties
- Oversee activities, such as meals and rest periods, as instructed by employer
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
- Instruct child in personal hygiene
- Tend to the child’s emotional well-being and support their social development
- Provide age-appropriate educational training through organized activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings
- Take child to and from school and appointments
Skills requirements:
First Aid & CPR certification is required
Completion of Secondary School is required
Must have at least seven months of work experience in child care or home care setting
Must be able to demonstrate ability to perform work
Preferred, but not mandatory:
College or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year: Child Care or related field is preferred
