Highway Traffic Technician

Northern Traffic Solutions is a leading traffic management company in British Columbia, dedicated to excellence, safety, and innovation in traffic control and infrastructure management. Currently, we are seeking to hire an experienced Highway Traffic Technician to join our team.

The Highway Traffic Technician will be responsible for:

·       Conduct field surveys, inspections, and technical investigations of topography, soils, drainage, water supply systems, road and highway systems, as well as buildings and structures, to gather data for engineering projects

·       Perform additional technical functions to support civil engineering activities.

·       Make sure effective traffic control is maintained at worksites within the scope of your training to protect workers and the public.

·       Adhere to all relevant Acts, Regulations, Guidelines, Policies, and Procedures regarding health and safety. 

·       Participated in site inspections and field assessments of roadways and highways before lane closures

·       Identified drainage issues, uneven surfaces, and environmental hazards affecting traffic and worker safety

·       Conducted pre-job and ongoing site inspections during construction and roadway maintenance activities

 

Skills and experience: 

  • Completion of a one- or two-year college program in civil engineering technology or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and on flexible shifts, including early mornings or evenings as required.
  • Flexible hours of work. The hours of work may vary depending on the project.

We are offering $30.00/hour – 40 hours/week.
