We are Toronto-based busy and energetic family seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly dependable full-time nanny to become an important part of our family. This is a long-term opportunity for a professional caregiver who enjoys creating structure, consistency, and a positive home environment while supporting two wonderful school-aged children, aged 9 and 11.

Experience Supporting Diverse Learning and Behavioural Needs

We are seeking someone with direct professional experience supporting children with diverse learning, behavioural, or developmental needs.

The ideal candidate understands how to provide calm, consistent support during moments of emotional dysregulation, can confidently implement routines and behavioural strategies, and appreciates the importance of patience, flexibility, and positive reinforcement. Experience collaborating with parents, educators, or therapists is considered a strong asset.

This position is ideal for someone who is calm under pressure, organized, patient, and confident working independently.

Schedule

·         Monday to Friday

·         Shift 1 – 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

·         Shift 2 – 2:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

·         Provide attentive, engaging care for two school-aged children.

·         Supervise and care for the children and maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home.

·         Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for the children and assist with family meal preparation.

·         Safely drive the children to and from school, appointments, extracurricular activities and community programs.

·         Assist the children with homework and provide age-appropriate guidance and instruction in reading and mathematics.

·         Organize age-appropriate educational and recreational activities, including games, reading, outings and community activities.

·         Support the children's morning, after-school and evening routines and instruct them in appropriate personal hygiene and social development.

·         Tend to the children's emotional well-being and social development while providing consistent structure and positive guidance in accordance with the parents' preferred methods.

·         Perform light housekeeping related to the children, including children's laundry, meal clean-up, tidying bedrooms and play areas, and maintaining organized spaces.

·         Assume responsibility for the children's care and the household in the absence of the parents.

·         Communicate regularly with the parents regarding the children's schedules, activities, school matters and any concerns.

·         Assist with coordinating the children's appointments, extracurricular activities and school communications using email and basic computer applications.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

·         Completion of secondary school or equivalent.

·         A minimum of five (5) years of professional childcare experience, preferably caring for school-aged children.

·         Demonstrated experience caring for children who require additional support with learning, behaviour, routines, emotional regulation, or social development.

·         Demonstrated ability to independently supervise and care for children and exercise sound judgment in managing day-to-day routines and challenging situations.

·         A valid Ontario driver's licence with a safe and acceptable driving record and confidence transporting children on a regular basis.

·         Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

·         Basic computer and digital literacy, including comfort using email, online calendars, school portals, and basic Microsoft Office or Google Workspace applications.

·         Excellent communication skills and sound judgment.

·         A warm, kind and nurturing approach to childcare.

·         Patience and emotional maturity.

·         Ability to remain calm and composed during challenging situations.

·         Dependability and punctuality.

·         A proactive, organized and solution-oriented approach.

·         Adaptability and the ability to respond appropriately to the children's changing needs.

·         Professionalism, discretion and trustworthiness.

·         Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification prior to commencing employment.

·         Ability to obtain and provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
