Farm Location: 20 – 28547 Highway 27, Olds, AB T4H 4A1 (Various locations)

Salary: $23.15 hourly / 45-55 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, Early morning, Evening, Day, Weekend, Overtime required

Job Requirements

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Work site environment: Chicken farming, Hay farming, Dusty, Noisy, Grain, oil and forage crop, All weather conditions, Dirty

Work setting: Rural area, Various locations

Area of specialization: Agricultural crop service, Poultry

Job Duties

• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment (Fertilizer applicator, Harvesters, Seed drill, Sprayer or duster, Tractor, Combine harvester, Farm truck, Forage equipment, Haying equipment, Planting equipment, Swather, Hand tools)
• Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting
• Plant, cultivate and irrigate crops, harvest crops
• Handling chickens, Monitoring chicken health, Perform livestock feeding, Feed and tend chickens
• Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns, pens and chicken coops
• Select livestock for sale
• Clean barns, barnyards and pens
• Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
• Maintain quality control and production records, Maintain work records and logs
• Perform general farm duties
