Description
We are looking for a well-experienced Executive Chef to work for Sula Indian Restaurant Main Street located at 4172 Main St, Vancouver, BC V5V 3P7, Canada.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan, direct, and oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring consistent execution of cuisine rooted in traditional Indian cooking techniques and flavours.

Establish and enforce culinary standards across the kitchen, including preparation of gravies, masalas, tandoor items, breads, rice dishes, and accompaniments.

Lead menu development and refinement, balancing authenticity, guest expectations, operational feasibility, and cost efficiency.

Standardize recipes, spice ratios, cooking methods, and portion specifications to ensure consistency across all service periods.

Recruit, onboard, schedule, and train kitchen staff to maintain stable operations and long-term kitchen leadership.

Coordinate closely with front-of-house and management teams to align menu execution, service flow, staffing levels, and guest experience.

Participate directly in food preparation and cooking during peak service periods, special functions, or critical operations to maintain standards.

Plan and control food production schedules, including advance preparation of gravies, marinades, doughs, and spice bases required for service.

Estimate food, ingredient, and labour requirements, monitoring costs closely and implementing corrective actions to protect margins.

Oversee sourcing, purchasing, and inventory of spices, specialty ingredients, and core products, ensuring quality and supply consistency.

Ensure full compliance with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations, with attention to high-risk preparations such as dairy-based gravies and marinated proteins.
Prerequisites:
Education: Secondary school or equivalent.
Experience & Skills: 3 years to less than 5 years
Language: English
Other skills;
Good Knowledge of Indian Cuisine
Good supervising skills
Hourly Rate: $38.00 for 40 Hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
