Executive Chef
We are looking for a well-experienced Executive Chef to work for Sula Indian Restaurant Main Street located at 4172 Main St, Vancouver, BC V5V 3P7, Canada.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide overall culinary leadership and strategic direction for Indian cuisine operations, establishing food concepts, quality benchmarks, and brand standards across the restaurant or multiple outlets.
- Design, develop, and standardize Indian menus, including curries, tandoor items, breads, rice dishes, appetizers, and desserts, ensuring consistency, authenticity, and commercial viability.
- Establish and enforce standardized recipes, spice blends, base gravies, marinades, portion controls, and plating guidelines to ensure uniform execution across all kitchen teams.
- Oversee and mentor Head Chefs, Sous Chefs, and Kitchen Managers, setting performance expectations and ensuring effective supervision of day-to-day kitchen operations.
- Lead high-level food cost management, pricing strategy, and budget planning, analyzing margins, supplier pricing, and yield to meet financial targets.
- Direct procurement strategy for Indian ingredients, spices, proteins, and specialty items, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and quality assurance.
- Develop kitchen organizational structures, staffing models, and succession plans, ensuring operational continuity and leadership depth.
- Collaborate with senior management and front-of-house leadership to align culinary operations with service standards, business growth plans, catering programs, and special events.
- Establish and monitor compliance systems for food safety, sanitation, allergen management, and regulatory standards across all Indian kitchen operations.
- Represent the culinary function in executive decision-making, supporting brand positioning, menu innovation, and long-term operational scalability while minimizing routine hands-on cooking.
Prerequisites:
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
Experience & Skills: 3 years to less than 5 years
Language: English
Other skills;
Good Knowledge of Indian Cuisine
Good supervising skills
Hourly Rate: $38.00 for 40 Hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
