Founded in 1994, the Yaletown Brewing Company is Vancouver’s original neighbourhood brewpub. Our pub restaurant is located in Vancouver Yaletown. Now we have openings for experienced Cook positions.

Employer: Yaletown Brewing Co Pub & Restaurant (o/a MJ Group)

Position: Cook (NOC 63200)

Responsibilities:

– Set up workstation with all needed ingredient and cooking equipment.

– Prepare meals or individual dishes according to recipes, product quality, portion, and presentation standards (assist in baking, braising, marinating, cutting, chopping, etc.).

– Cook complete various foods according to our recipe.

– Check food while cooking to stir or turn.

– Check quality of ingredients.

– Order or receive food supplies after selecting best qualities.

– Ensure all food meet food safe and quality standards.

– Maintain organization and cleanliness of station, cooler, kitchen, and storerooms.

– Work with specialized equipment such as deep-fryer and grill etc.

– May schedule and/or train kitchen helpers.

Requirements:

– Completion of secondary school.

– Two years or more experience as a commercial cook.

Preferred:

– Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods such as grilling, boiling etc.

– Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.

– Good communication skills

Wage and working hours: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour, 30-40 hours a week.
