[Job Duties]:
  • Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms oronto surfaces according to grade
  • Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement
  • Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
  • Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces
  • Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
  • Cutting expansion joints with a power saw, aligning forms to desired depth and pitch, directing the casting ofconcrete.
  • Produce various final finishes on concrete surfaces based on job-specific requirements, using rough/fine brooms orspecial groove rakes.
  • Waterproof, damp-proof and restore concrete surfaces.
  • Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete and move chute to direct concrete on forms.

 

[Job Requirements]:
 
  • Education: Completion of secondary school is usually required.
  • Experience: Completion of a two- to four-year apprenticeship program OR over three years of work experience inthe trade are required.

 

Wage: $34.00 – $35.00 per hour and entitled to 4% of total wages as vacation pay.
Working hours: 30-40 hours per week
