Job description:

Position: Carpenter

Number of positions available: 1

Work Hours:  40 hours per week

Wage: $36.60/hour

Employment Type: Full-time

Start date: ASAP

Vacation time: As per law

Work Location: Vancouver, BC

Language of work: English

 

Key duties and Responsibilities

  • Moving, loading and unloading various construction materials.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, shoring, and barricades required at job site.
  • Measure, cut, shape wood and other materials according to specifications.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Build window frames, doors, staircases, frames and other construction structures by using raw materials or pre-constructed items.
  • Construct various architectural components based on provided blueprints
  • Repair of building envelopes, decayed wood framing and renovation.
  • Repair of decks, re-sloping, windows / doors, siding, wood fasciae and trim boards.
  • Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves, and other items and install them where designated.
  • Setup and removal of protection material for finished work
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete tasks.
  • General housekeeping includes maintaining a tidy and orderly job site.

 

Requirements for the job

  • Completion of secondary school.
  • 1–2 years of experience as a Carpenter or in residential finishing.
  • Physical strength and stamina to spend most of their time on their feet and lift heavy materials.
  • Good manual dexterity hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to multitask
  • Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Safety glasses.
