Position: Mechanical Insulator (Insulation Mechanic)

Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

Wage: $34.49 – 36.00 /hour (Depending on experience)

Hours: 30 – 40 hours/week

Job Duties:

·         Apply, remove, and repair insulation on industrial equipment, pipes, ductwork, or other mechanical systems such as heat exchangers, tanks, and vessels, to help control noise and maintain temperatures

·         Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements

·         Select appropriate insulations based on the heat retaining or excluding characteristics of the material

·         Fit insulation around obstructions, and shape insulating materials and protective coverings as required

·         Install vapour barriers and/or sheet metal around insulated pipes with screws in order to protect the insulation from weather conditions or physical damage

·         Cover, seal or apply waterproofing cement over insulating materials to finish surfaces

·         Remove asbestos or urea-formaldehyde insulation from building when required

Job requirements:

·         Completion of Secondary School is required

·         2 ~ 3 years of experience in the trade are required
