Tansea Farm. near Lacombe, AB. requires 2 full-time Farm Supervisors to perform the following duties on their farm:

Location: 28131 TWP RD 394 Lacombe, AB T4M 0R5

Salary: $32.50- $35.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 42.5-60 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, Evening, Morning, Night, Day, Weekend, Overtime required

Starts as soon as possible

 

Job Requirements

Languages: English

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work site environment: Dusty, Noisy, Odours

Area of specialization: Agricultural crop service – seed potatoes and onions, grains, canola, wheat, barley & specialized peas

Work setting: Rural area

Supervision: 1-4 people

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Large workload

Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication, Excellent written communication, Organized, Team player

 

Job Duties

·         Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers

·         Organize tasks to accomplish the work

·         Hire and train staff

·         Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures

·         Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations

·         Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting

·         Mixing fertilizer

·         Maintain quality control and production records

·         Maintain work records and logs

·         Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, Onion seeder, Harvesters, Seed drill, Sprayer or duster, Tractor, Vegetable or fruit harvester, Forklift, Technical knowledge – Optical sorter, hand work

·         Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed

.         Perform general farm duties
