Salary: $19.44 hourly / 40 to 60 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, Early morning, Evening, Day, Weekend, Overtime required

Starts as soon as possible

Job Requirements

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work site environment: Dusty, Noisy, Odours, Outdoors, Dairy

Area of specialization: Dairy cattle

Work setting: Rural area

Supervision: 3-4 people

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Large workload

Job Duties

• Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
• Supervise milking operations to ensure work is done correctly
• Organize tasks to accomplish the work
• Hire and train staff
• Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs
• Diagnose livestock health issues, Monitoring animal health, Treat livestock health issues
• Milk cows
• Handling animals
• Carry out a pasture or pen breeding programs
• Formulate feeding program
• Maintain livestock performance records, Maintain quality control and production records, Maintain work records and logs
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, Milking system (automated), Tractor
• Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
• Perform general farm duties
