We are currently seeking a Car Detailing Department Supervisor to lead our vehicle detailing team and ensure every vehicle is prepared to meet our quality standards before delivery.
Job Summary
The Car Detailing Department Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily operations of the vehicle detailing department. This position ensures all cleaning and detailing work is completed efficiently, safely, and to company quality standards while providing leadership, training, and scheduling for detailing staff.
Main Duties
- Supervise, coordinate and assign work to vehicle detailers and cleaning staff.
- Plan daily work schedules and organize detailing activities to meet dealership timelines.
- Inspect completed detailing work to ensure vehicles meet established cleanliness, appearance and quality standards.
- Monitor compliance with workplace safety procedures and the proper use of cleaning chemicals, tools and equipment.
- Train new detailing employees on company procedures, detailing techniques, equipment operation and safety practices.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding and performance evaluation of detailing staff.
- Ensure detailing supplies, chemicals and equipment are properly maintained and available for daily operations.
- Recommend repairs, maintenance or replacement of detailing equipment and supplies when required.
- Coordinate vehicle preparation schedules with the sales, service and reconditioning departments.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning products and prepare supply orders as needed.
- Assist in preparing departmental budgets, estimating supply costs and maintaining operational records.
- Maintain records of completed work, staff schedules and inventory usage.
- Resolve day-to-day operational issues and ensure work is completed efficiently.
- Perform vehicle detailing and cleaning duties when required to support operational needs.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in vehicle detailing, automotive cleaning or a related cleaning environment.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of vehicle cleaning products, detailing equipment and safe handling procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high quality workmanship.
