Reporting to the Domestic Sales & Brand Specialist, the Inside Sales Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the promotion and sales initiatives and procedures of Discover Canada Tours, with a focus on Inside Sales initiatives and promotional activities. Core responsibilities include leading the front-line Sales team while ensuring strong sales performance, excellent customer service, and smooth daily operations. This role combines hands-on sales responsibilities with team leadership, training, and performance oversight which will directly affect the direction and goals of the business.

 

MAIN DUTIES:

 

Sales Leadership & Coordination:

 

● Lead, mentor, and support a team of Inside Sales Representatives, seasonal sales staff, and practicums, ensuring strong performance, accountability, and professional development

● Manage, promote, and sell tours and activities through assigned accounts using the reservation systems while guiding team members to achieve sales targets

● Monitor daily sales performance and coach team members on upselling techniques, customer engagement, and sales strategies to maximize revenue and guest satisfaction

● Ensure sales materials (maps, brochures, sales floats, displays, etc.) are properly maintained and available at all sales points

● Oversee daily sales tracking and reporting, ensuring accurate records are maintained by the team

● Coordinate team participation at sales booths around Vancouver, including the Discover Canada Tour office and other high-traffic locations

● Support team members in delivering excellent service to walk-in customers and handling front desk responsibilities, ensuring the image of the front-office is always well-maintained, clean, and welcoming for walk-in guests

● Ensure the front-office is open and closed on time following the assigned operation schedule

● Manage and oversee the shared email inbox and phone line, ensuring timely and professional responses to booking inquiries and customer support requests

● Facilitate regular sales meetings to review account performance, share updates, and align the team with sales objectives and strategies

● Share customer insights, feedback, and market observations with the Sales and Management teams to strengthen the direct-to-consumer sales strategy

● Attend in-office Sales daily Sales meetings to update the status of accounts to the Sales team and strategize promotional activities of the day

 

Team Management & Development:

 

● Participate in the decision-making process for the recruitment, onboarding, training, and offboarding of seasonal sales representatives and practicums within the front-line Sales team

● Act as a role model and mentor, fostering a positive, collaborative, and performance-driven sales culture

● Monitor individual and team performance, providing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to strengthen sales capabilities

● Support the Domestic & Inside Sales Manager with scheduling, task delegation, and workload management to ensure efficient coverage of sales points and customer inquiries

● Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellent customer service across the Sales team

 

Client Engagement & Sales Growth:

 

● Identify opportunities to promote Discover Canada Tours' products to new clients, target groups, and organizations

● Participate in networking opportunities, trade events, industry gatherings, and tourism-related events to strengthen relationships and generate new business opportunities

● Analyze competitor products, pricing, and offerings to help identify opportunities for improvement and innovation

● Work closely with the Marketing team to contribute insights for promotional campaigns, sales materials, and customer engagement initiatives

 

Additional Responsibilities:

 

 ● Work in collaboration with the Sales & Activities Coordinator(s) to prepare, plan, and execute activities and events for student groups

● Participate in Familiarization (FAM) trips to stay knowledgeable about tour products and attractions and help train the sales team accordingly

● Occasionally attend tour departure locations to see specific traveler groups off on their tours and support the guest experience when required

● Ensure the Inside Sales team consistently delivers a welcoming, informative, and professional experience for all customers

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

     ● Legally eligible to work in Canada

     ● Excellent English language skills, both oral and written

     ● 2 to 4 years of work experience in sales, customer service, or business administration

     ● Completed post-secondary education in Tourism, Hospitality, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field

    ● Strong understanding of direct-to-consumer sales, upselling techniques, and customer engagement strategies.

    ● Experience working with reservation systems, CRM platforms, or booking tools in a sales or tourism environment.

    ● Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, including spreadsheets and reporting tools.

    ● Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple priorities and operational tasks simultaneously.

    ● Ability to analyze sales performance, track results, and provide constructive coaching to team members.

    ● Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment, including front desk interactions and direct sales.

    ● Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments, including sales, marketing, operations, and product teams.

    ● Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and peak tourism seasons when required.

    ● Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with a natural ability to approach and engage with new people.

    ● Professional and people-centric approach to customer service and client relations

    ● Passionate about travel and knowledgeable about travel destinations in Western Canada.

    ● Multilingual abilities are considered an asset

    ● Previous team leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience, including training or coaching front-line staff is an asset.
