Salary: $36 hourly/ 35-40 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent Full time; Evening, Morning, Day, Night, Weekend, Overtime available

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Job Responsibilities & Tasks: Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions; Load and unload goods; Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes; Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials; Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment; Perform emergency roadside repairs; Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle; Receive and relay information to central dispatch; Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption; Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo

Credentials: Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: AZ class license, Air Brakes Endorsement, Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Driver's License (Class 1 or A), Extended Trailer Combination Permit or Endorsement

Experience and specialization: Documentation knowledge, Accident or incident reports, Bill of lading, Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports

Type of trucking and equipment: Extended length tractor-trailer combination, Flatbed, Tractor-trailer

Communication systems experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment, Trip recorder (on-board computer)

Transportation/travel experience: Local, Provincial/territorial, Short-haul

Additional information:

Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract)

Transportation/travel information: Drive manual transmission vehicle, Valid driver's licence, Willing to travel for extended periods, Willing to travel overnight

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Sitting

Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
