Description
We are looking for a well-experienced Specialist Chef for a well-known events and catering firm, Paramount Eventspace, located at 222 Rowntree Dairy Rd, Woodbridge, ON L4L 9T2 Canada.
For Paramount Eventspace, the Specialist Chef should be positioned as a banquet-focused culinary specialist who owns specific components of event menus, not a cuisine.

JOB DUTIES:

Prepare and cook specialty dishes and components for large-scale weddings, banquets, and corporate events, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and presentation at volume.

Take ownership of assigned specialty production areas such as sauces, proteins, vegetable preparations, soups, or plated banquet finishes.

Execute complete meals and specialty items according to event-specific menus, timelines, and quality standards.

Develop, test, and refine recipes and preparation methods to ensure consistent execution at banquet scale.

Design and execute decorative food presentations and plating elements suitable for formal events and luxury dining settings.

Instruct and guide cooks and kitchen helpers on preparation techniques, garnishing, portion standards, and presentation requirements.

Supervise kitchen staff assigned to specialty areas, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.

Coordinate closely with sous chefs, banquet leads, and service teams to align specialty food production with event timelines.

Monitor food quality throughout preparation and service, making real-time adjustments to maintain standards across large guest counts.

Assist with menu planning and specialty item selection based on event requirements, production feasibility, and presentation goals.

Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards within assigned specialty areas.

Support back-to-back event execution by maintaining pace, accuracy, and consistency under sustained service pressure.
Prerequisites:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
Experience & Skills: 3 years to 5 years experience preferably in the Food industry
Language: English
Hourly Wage: $36 to $38 for 30 to 40 hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
Benefits: 4 % Vacation Pay,
