We are looking for well experienced Cooks for “Hungry Herbies Drive Inn” located at 1301 Hwy. 97 North Cache Creek, BC V0K 1H0 Canada.

JOB DUTIES:

Prepare and cook complete meals, individual dishes and food components in line with standardized recipes and portion control.
Carry out mise en place: gather and prepare ingredients, set up workstations, pre-prep (cutting, portioning, etc.) to ensure efficient flow during service.
Ensure each dish is cooked, garnished and plated/presented according to quality, taste and appearance standards.
Maintain the kitchen station(s) in a state of readiness: requisition and stock all required food items, condiments, paper-/disposables, and smallware each shift.
Store, rotate (FIFO), label and date food and supplies appropriately; ensure proper temperature controls and minimize waste.
Operate kitchen equipment (ovens, grills, fryers, steamers, combi ovens, etc) and perform regular maintenance, cleaning and breakdown tasks.
Work collaboratively with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely, efficient meal service.
Assist in portion size determination, yield checks, food cost control and waste reduction initiatives.
Supervise and coordinate activities of kitchen helpers or junior cooks during service.

Prerequisites:

Education: Secondary School or equivalent.

Experience & Skills: 5 years or more, preferably in the Restaurant or Hospitality Industry.

Language: English

Hourly Rate: $18.00 to $20.00 per Hour for 30 to 40 Hours per week

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
