Built-up Flat Roofer

Viana Roofing & Sheet Metal Ltd. is a roofing and sheet metal contractor based in Toronto and specializes in new roof construction, roof replacement and roof restoration and repair.

Now Hiring: Built-Up Flat Roofers (NOC 73110) for permanent, full-time employment.

Qualifications:

• should have at least 3 years of experience as commercial flat roofing 
• able to work independently with minimal supervision
• must have experience with conventional and inverted roofing systems, mod-bit systems, and various single-ply membrane roofing systems
• willingness to work year-round and some weekends
• able to endure physically demanding work (handle loads of up to 50 lbs.)
• safety certificates an asset, safety training provided

Job Duties:

• prepare roofs for installation of built-up flat roofing systems
• Install or repair conventional and inverted built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel
• Install or repair various single-ply membrane roofing systems (EPDM, TPO, and PVC)
• apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces
• maintain safe and legal work project by following safety procedures, hazardous material restrictions, and building codes

Wages:

• between $36.00 and $40.00 per hour depending on your knowledge and experience
• 10% vacation paid
• medical and dental benefits available after probationary period

Hours of Work: 

– full-time hours between 32 and 44 hours per week, weather permitting

– overtime available, weekend availability an asset

Location of Work: 

Varies, travel required within Greater Toronto Area and southwestern Ontario
