Working Hours: 30 – 40 hours per week / 6 – 8 hours per day

Wage: $35.00-$37.00

We are now looking for a Pastry Chef to join our team!

 

Main duties

  • Manage and coordinate the daily tasks of cooks, and other kitchen team members
  • Train staff on baking techniques and how to properly use new tools or appliances
  • Bake and assemble a wide range of desserts and savory items; also design elaborate food displays for events such as weddings or banquets
  • Provide hands-on instruction to kitchen staff on cooking methods, presentation, and garnishing techniques
  • Invent and test original dessert recipes and pastry creations
  • May take part in planning menus and ordering ingredients, supplies, and baking equipment
  • May be involved in preparing complex or signature menus
  • May handle purchasing and inventory of bakery items and kitchen materials
  • Oversee kitchen operations to maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and cleanliness

 

Employment Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • Completion of college or other post-secondary program related to pastry and bread or at least 2 years of commercial baking experiences are required.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Flexible availability for weekends and holidays is required.
