Description
We are looking for a well-experienced Pastry Chef for our company L’ OCA Quality Market located at
340 Baseline Road, Sherwood Park, AB T8H 2N4, Canada.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and produce all pastry and bakery items, including cakes, tarts, cookies,
-
viennoiserie, mousses, and specialty desserts following Loca Quality Market’s quality standards.

Complete daily mise en place, mixing, proofing, baking, decorating, glazing, and finishing of all
-
pastries.

Follow standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation guidelines to ensure product
-
consistency and minimize waste.

Develop and assist with new pastry items, seasonal desserts, and menu improvements based on
-
trends and customer demand.

Ensure all pastry items meet high standards of taste, texture, freshness, and appearance.

Follow strict sanitation, hygiene, and food safety practices, including HACCP procedures and
-
local health regulations.

Inspect all pastry ingredients for quality, freshness, proper labelling, and storage compliance.

Manage pastry inventory, monitor ingredient usage, and coordinate ordering of supplies with the

purchasing team.

Track product rotation to reduce wastage and maintain availability for retail displays.

Supervise, train, and guide pastry assistants or support staff in production methods, equipment
-
use, and quality standards.

Schedule pastry production according to store needs, workload, and daily retail demand.

Maintain pastry display cases, ensuring attractive presentation, accurate labelling, and regular
-
replenishment.

Assist staff and customers with inquiries about ingredients, allergens, dietary preferences, and

product details.

Operate and maintain pastry equipment such as ovens, mixers, proofers, and display units.
Prerequisites:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Experience & Skills: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
Language:English
Hourly Rate: $ 36.00 to $ 38.00 per Hour for 30 to 40 hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Full time and permanent
Benefits: 6 % Vacation Pay
