(Head Chef)
We are looking for a well-experienced Head Chef to work at Manna’s Food Express, located at 280 Lester Street, Suite 112, Waterloo, ON N2L 3W5, Canada.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan, direct, and oversee all kitchen and food production operations at Manna Foods, ensuring authentic preparation of Indian cuisine and adherence to company quality standards.

Develop and standardize menus, recipes, and production methods for Indian curries, tandoori items, biryanis, breads, chutneys, and packaged retail meals.

Supervise, train, and schedule kitchen and production staff, assigning tasks and ensuring consistency, efficiency, and food safety compliance across all shifts.

Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation, with a particular focus on the authenticity of Indian spices, herbs, and cooking methods.

Control inventory and oversee ingredient procurement, ensuring availability of authentic Indian staples, managing supplier relationships, and reducing food waste.

Ensure proper operation, cleanliness, and safety of specialized Indian cooking equipment such as tandoors, steamers, kadais, and commercial ovens.

Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols in accordance with Canadian health regulations and internal quality systems.

Estimate food requirements, portion sizes, and production costs, contributing to efficient budgeting and cost control.

Introduce new dishes and seasonal specials inspired by regional Indian cuisines, keeping the menu innovative and appealing.

Coordinate kitchen operations with production, packaging, and quality control teams to meet daily and seasonal demand, especially during peak festivals.

Recruit, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff performance, fostering a culture of culinary excellence and teamwork.

Stay updated on culinary trends and evolving consumer preferences in Indian and international cuisine, adapting offerings to enhance Manna Foods’ competitive edge.
Prerequisites:
Education: Secondary school or equivalent.
Experience & Skills: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in related field.
Language: English
Hourly rate;; $36.00 – $40.00 per hour for 30 hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
Benefits: 4 % Vacation Pay,
