Position Info:

• Position: Early Childhood Educator Assistant
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $20.00/hour (depending on experience)
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Number of Positions:  1
• Work Location: F120 805 Boyd Street, New Westminster, BC V3M 5X2

Job Duties:

• Support early childhood educators in implementing childcare programs that nurture the physical, mental, emotional, and social growth of children
• Take the lead in activities such as storytelling, reading, teaching songs, and organizing visits to local points of interest for children
• Participate in staff meetings to discuss the progress and challenges of children
• Provide opportunities for creative expression through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activities
• Engage children in various activities, including storytelling, teaching songs, and facilitating craft projects
• Teach children to develop proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
• Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in maintaining records and notes
• Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
• Observe children for potential learning or behavioral issues and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
• Manage daycare equipment and contribute to cleaning and cooking duties
• Plan an environment that safeguards the health, security, and overall well-being of children.
• Demonstrate knowledge of licensing regulations
• Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers involved in working with children
• Assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children, discussing progress or challenges with parents and other staff members

Job requirements:

• Experience: 1~7 months of experience in childcare is required
• Education: Completion of secondary school is required
• Certificate: First Aid Certificate & CPR Certificate and E.C.E.A Certificate(ECE level 1)
• Secrurity and Safety: Criminal record check and medical exam are required
• Personal Suitability: Reliability and team playing performance is required
• Language: English
