Live-in Caregiver – Seniors

One full-time vacancy.  Work from Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 4:30 PM, for 40 hours a week.  Duties include administering medications, assisting with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, preparing and serving nutritious meals, accompanying the recipient of care on medical appointments.  Tasks also include light housekeeping and cleaning duties, engaging the recipient of care in light exercise (ie walking), laundering clothing and linens.  Providing other personal care and companionship.  This is a non-smoking and scent sensitive working environment.

Education Level

Secondary (high) school certificate or equivalent experience.

Required Skills

One year to less than two years of experience.  Physical capabilities include:  bending, crouching, kneeling, a combination of sitting, standing and walking. Fast paced environment.  Physicallly demanding work.  Must be able to lift heavier weight of 45-60 kgs (100-132 lbs) and work under pressure.  The position includes repetitive tasks and standing for extended periods.  The ideal candidate must have a genuine patient and caring demeanor.

Additiional Skills/Assets

Criminality and vulnerability sector checks required.  Immunization records required.  Must exhibit punctuality, good communications and organizational skills.  The ideal candidate with be flexible and show initiative, flexibility, initiative, judgement, reliability patience and honesty.  Must be dependable and have a client focus.
