Description
Adaptacare Personal Care Homes Inc located in the North Side of Lethbridge is currently seeking reliable, compassionate and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse for 1 (one) FT/ Term/Contract LPN position with a strong possibility of becoming a continuing permanent full time position after 12 months of employment.
JOB DETAILS:
Term/Contract 12 months to 36 months- Full Time Employment, Guaranteed at 32 hours per week.
Must be willing to work Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekdays and Weekends; Early Morning shift, On-call and possible Overtime as needed.
Start Date: As soon as possible.

Education
College/CEGEP
Licensed practical/vocational nurse training (LPN, LVN, RPN, Cert., Dipl., AAS)
Experience
Minimum 5 years or more; preferably having worked on a congregate facility setting for seniors with complex and chronic medical and nursing needs.
On site
Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Responsibilities
Tasks
Administer medications
Apply aseptic techniques including sterile dressing
Conduct specimen collection
Ensure infection control
Monitor nutritional intake
Observe and record medication’s therapeutic and side effects
Record medication’s therapeutic and side effects observations in patient files
Take vital signs
Monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy
Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families
Provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures
Monitor patients’ progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of healthcare team
Credentials
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses
Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work
Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination
CPR Certificate
