JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

About Us

We’re a small, but busy accounting company that works primarily with Film/TV industry clients. We have four full-time staff (and 2 friendly dogs) who work in-office and a team of part-timers who work in-office and remotely and use masks when required.

We’re seeking a responsible, detail-oriented individual to join our in-office team as a full-time junior accountant. The individual must have excellent written and spoken English and Filipino. A post-secondary degree in accounting is essential.

The position is the best suited to someone with a positive, egalitarian attitude: Our office culture is professional, yet easy-going, and our staff share day-to-day office duties. Very importantly, you must like dogs.

The office itself is home-based, located near Granville Island close to bus and Aquabus transit.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain financial records and reports.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, procedures, and internal control.
  • Analyze financial documents and reports.
  • Keep financial records and establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
  • Assist with general office coordinator tasks.
  • Data entry to QuickBooks, ProFile, and spreadsheets.
  • Prepare clients paperwork and receipts for taxes.
  • Filing and management of client documents.
  • Communicate with clients via email and phone.
  • Facilitate work of remote staff via apps such Slack and Zoom.
  • Other financial and administrative tasks as required.
  • Share in preparation of office lunches.
  • Occasional dog walking

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Additional Information

  • Must be fluent in written and spoken in Filipino and English
  • Must be comfortable around large dogs.
  • Must be comfortable in home-office environment.
