Early Childhood Educator (RECE)

Full-time Permanent ECE position

Job Qualifications and skills requirements:
Early Childhood Educator Registered with the College of ECE and in good standings
Educator Diploma or Degree (RECE)
Valid Certificate for CPR including infant and child CPR and Standard First Aid (prior to the start of the position)
Up-to-date Police Vulnerable Sector Check (VC)
Up to date immunizations including 2 step TB (Tuberculosis) test
Current Criminal Reference Check, including Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSC)
Team oriented personality; Passion to work with children; Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort such as lifting up to 20 kg (44 lbs.), bending and stooping; Must be able to work outdoors for at least 2 hours per day.
Knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA),
An understanding of How Does Learning Happen? and ELECT

Job Duties and requirements:
Ensure the classroom operates in compliance with childcare licensing standards
Ensures all children and families are provided with a high-quality childcare experience, and provides ongoing support to families as needed
Plans and implements a play-based program
Maintains and ensures all records including but not limited to attendance, accidents reports, daily programming are completed on a daily basis
Reporting to the Supervisor of Child Care, the Registered Early Childhood Educator is responsible for the overall learning and care of the children in the program
Maintains open and regular communication with co-workers and parents
Maintain confidentiality at all times
Attend and participate in all classroom / Kinderland meetings and events as required
Adheres to all requirements outlined in the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), and all Kinderland Policies and Procedures

How to Apply

Hours: Approximately 35 – 40 hours/week, flexibility between the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
