Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
Documentation knowledge
Bill of lading
Driver logbook
Maintenance and repair reports
Duties:
1. Operate and drive a straight truck
2. Loading and unloading trucks and help receivers if required
3. Completing a daily truck log and submitting mileage reports
4. Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting any problems
5. Complying with company and government regulations and rules
6. Securing cargo as needed
7. Communicating with driver supervisors
8. Performing emergency minor repairs if needed
Additional information
Completion of an accredited driver training course of up to three months through a vocational school or community college is an asset.
