Position: Barista Number of job vacancies: 1 Hours: 5 days /week, 30-40 hours/week Hourly Wage: $16.75 Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Benefits: Disability insurance, Dental insurance, Extended medical insurance after 3 months of probation Working location: 2800 Sexsmith Road Richmond BC V6X 1V5 Primary Service of Business: Full-service restaurant serving brunch, lunch, and dinner   The Story Café started with an idea that “there is a story in everything.” We love coffee, music, food, and anything that can create or bring back a story such as an antique, vintage camera or a memorable music record. So, in 2018, we began to think of an idea which would combine all the elements of things we love into one restaurant. We transformed a 30-year-old warehouse into a new concept where our dream became a reality. After 2 years of hard work, the warehouse was transformed into a full restaurant with a historical vibe that also showcased our love for the arts and opened in March 2020.   MAIN DUTIES:

• Prepares and serves hot and cold beverages, such as coffee, blended coffee, and tea, to patrons; correctly customizes orders as requested
• Cleans and sanitizes all equipment, utensils, dishes, and work areas
• Keeps cleaning and sanitizing bar and service areas
• Prepares specialized drinks according to in-house recipe
• Cleans and maintains all equipment, and accessing repair needs
• Maintains inventories by stocking of supplies and equipment
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions
• Ensures proper functioning of freezers, refrigerators, and heating by routinely checking temperatures in that equipment
• Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and sanitation regulations
• Ensures customer service stations are properly stocked with paper products or beverage preparation items
• Performs other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completion of secondary school is preferred
• On-the job-training provided
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Previous Barista experience as an asset
• Be able to work under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment
