Terms of Employment/Salary:
– Full-time (35 hrs per week)
– Permanent
– Day, Morning, Weekend, Evening
– $27.70/hour, 2 weeks annual vacation pay
Job Duties:
-Address customers' complaints or concerns
-Professionalism in customer service
-Drive lighter, special purpose trucks
-Load and unload goods
-Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
-Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
-Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
-Perform preventive maintenance
-Receive and relay information to central dispatch
-Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
Skill Requirements (including language, education and work experience):
– English
– Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
– 7 months to less than 1 year
Credentials:
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses, Air Brakes Endorsement, Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks)
Experience and specialization:
Documentation knowledge Bill of lading, Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trip reports.
Type of trucking and equipment
Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), Tractor-trailer
Transportation/travel experience
Local, Provincial/territorial, Regional, Short haul
