JOB OVERVIEW

Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic’s at Powerline Plus Ltd. inspect, diagnose, repair, adjust, overhaul and service light and heavy pieces of construction equipment including but not limited to; Skid Steers, Bobcats, Bull-Dozers, Tractor-Loader-Backhoes, Excavators, Mini-Excavators Etc.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
For light and heavy construction equipment:
· Inspect and diagnose components and equipment for servicing needs;
· Check construction equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions;
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools;
· Repair mechanical transmissions, hydraulic transmissions and brake systems;
· Rebuild and repair heavy duty equipment as required;
· Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work;
· Test repaired equipment for proper performance;
· Promptly address all daily service calls
· Complete the associated service paperwork and update and maintain all service records;

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
· Completion of Secondary School
· Completion of a Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities approved Heavy Duty Equipment Technician apprenticeship program considered an asset.
· A minimum of four (4) years of work experience in the trade and experience with service calls.
· Ability to troubleshoot equipment with a strong mechanical aptitude
· Valid G’ Ontario Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract required; Class DZ or better considered an asset
· Ability to operate a manual transmission required
· Physically capable of meeting the job requirements’; ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds, ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and safely climb a ladder
