We are a growing Transportation Company and currently looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Head Dispatcher to join our team.

 

Position: Head Dispatcher

Term: Permanent, Full time

Description

The Head Dispatcher will mainly oversee and coordinate dispatch operations of product and shipping movements from the supply location to the delivery location of clients. Regularly, you will coordinate with our clients, suppliers, Drivers, and other trucking companies to manage shipments, Inventory, payment processing, border clearance and load safety requirements. 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and book loads with new and existing clients, quoting the load broker according to miles and market rates

  • Coordinate, plan and supervise dispatch operations

  • Establish work schedules and coordinate work activities with Safety & Compliance and Accounting departments

  • Assisting truck drivers with routes and directions, problem-solving delivery or pickup issues

  • Coordinates pickup and delivery schedules for North American shipments with transporters and other freight-forwarders using load link software

  • Processes shipments, documentation for load clearances

  • Prepare documentation such as loading and unloading instructions to the drivers, receiver(s) and supplier(s)

  • Train new drivers on the company policy and safety procedures and educate them on comprehending customs paperwork such as PAPS and PARS

  • Train and supervise dispatch team with duties and policies

  • Maintained inventory records with timely updates

  • Monitors the shipments in transit and assists with any logistical issues to ensure the customer service

  • Coordinate and communicate with clients for post-delivery questions or concerns, also coordinate for sale of future orders

  • Maintain smooth operations of computer systems, Load and Freight application, equipment and machinery

  • Prepare progress reports related to driver pickup and delivery times and recommend measures to improve driver's performance

Employment Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school diploma

  • Post-secondary Canadian education will be an asset

  • Must have 1 year of experience as a dispatcher 

  • Excellent proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal. 

  • Professional and reliable

  • Team player and highly adaptive to work in a culturally diverse environment

  • Proficient on Microsoft Office Applications, MS Excel, Logistics software, load link, database and Adobe Professional for document processing

  • Having own vehicle is an asset

  • Good knowledge of Canadian and US provinces' highway routes

 

Start date: ASAP

Work hours: Minimum 35 hours per week.
