Position Title: Glazier 

Work Location: 650 W 41st Avenue, Vancouver, BC, Canada

Duration: full-time, permanent

Salary or Salary Range: $28 to $32/hr based on experience, as well as 4% vacation pay

 

Job Description:
We are a commercial glazing company located in Vancouver B.C. looking to immediately hire glaziers to work at our construction sites, experience preferred but not required. This position requires physical strength, coordination, knowledge of installation procedures, and the ability to take measurements. Glaziers should be creative and have excellent problem solving abilities, as well as be proficient with tools of the trade. They must be able to handle and move equipment, operate machinery, and communicate well with others. 

 

  • Determine type of glass, frames and material required
  • Position and secure panels in frame
  • Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors, or glass products
  • Install door, window and other hardware
  • Repair glass doors and other glass structures
  • Assemble, erect and dismantle scaffolding, rigging and hoisting equipment
  • Transport cases of glass
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
  • Work at heights on scaffolding or swing stages 
  • Work from man-lift mobile equipment, cranes, and other lifting equipment
  • Meet quality standard for every project

 

Work Hours

This is a full-time position for at least two years. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasionally the employee may need to work overtime as deemed necessary.

 

Experience

  • Glazier: 1 year (preferred)
  • Training will be provided on all requirements

 

Education

Completion of secondary school is an asset.

 

Language 

  • English (Required)
