Position: Food Service Supervisor

Working Hours: 30 hrs per week, 5days a week

Wage: $15.20 ~ $16.20 per hour

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Benefit: 4% Vacation Pay from Gross Salary, Overtime will be paid

Nestled on the corner of Hornby and Georgia in downtown Vancouver, Bread & Butter will be your go-to gourmet café on weekdays and an upscale boutique venue for special events on evenings and weekends. We are now hiring a food service supervisor to join our team.

Main duties

• Oversees the daily food service in all areas of kitchen and dining room
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
• Handle shift schedules for food services workers and assign them tasks on daily basis
• Coordinate frequent workplace inspections
• Plan menus and determine related food and labour costs
• Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of worker
• Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
• Ensure strict compliance with restaurant’s standards in all aspects of service
• Participates in menu preparation, ensuring menus are updated and recipes are revised
• Ensuring all equipment is clean and maintained
• Communicate positively and enthusiastically to the restaurant patrons and address their issues promptly

 Employment Requirements

• Completion of secondary school
• Flexible availability for weekends & holidays
• 1 year of experience in customer service or similar roll may be required
• English language ability is required
• should have Food safe level 1 and Serving it Right certifications
