Farm Operation Supervisor

Job Title: Farm Operation Supervisor:(NOC: 8252)

Employer: Pioneer Estate Winery

Location: 131 Mill Rd Moncton, NB E1A 6R1

Wage: 17/hr for 40 hrs per week

Vacancy:  1

Job Requirements:

Languages

• English or French

Education

• College certificate or other specialized training in agriculture

Experience

• At least 2 – 3 years of work experience as a farm supervisor or any related field.

Duties:

·       Maintain quality control and production records.

·       Coordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers.

·       Develop work schedules and establish procedures.

·       Supervise and oversee growing and other crop related operations.

·       Ensure farm safety and biosecurity procedures are followed.

·       Train new employees and assists workers in their duties as needed.

·       Oversee the overall handling of produce to ensure production meets the highest quality of standards for the company.

Qualifications:

·       Farming background and experience in planning and production is an asset.

·       Ability to work independently and have technical and practical competence to meet the daily demands of farming.

·       Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management and communication skills.

·       Possess a sound knowledge of health and safety standards and a commitment to promoting safe farming practices.

·       Repetitive tasks, demanding, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods of times bending, crouching, kneeling
