F/T Accounting Technician

 

Fusion Project Management Ltd. DBA Fusion Projects is a project and construction management company with in-house design capabilities based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. We are seeking a fulltime Accounting Technician to join our team. This position is permanent.

 

Job Description/Duties:

  • Maintain financial records by accurately recording up to date transactions, including credit card transactions, purchases, receipts, and other payments
  • Process accounts payable by handling the full cycle of an invoice processing from matching invoices to purchase orders, coding, importing to the system, issuing cheques, and presenting pending cheques to managers for release approval
  • Process accounts receivable by preparing invoices to clients for in-progress projects as well as recording payment receipts coming in from clients into the system
  • Reconcile the corporate credit card payments by cross-verify receipts and bank statements to ensure payments match actuals
  • Verify, and accurately allocate and post card transactions/financial data into appropriate accounts, either project-related or enterprise-administrative expenses before importing them into the company ledger accounts
  • Prepare financial report; a daily bank report, and present to the Executive and Finance departments, laying out bank deposits and withdrawals, bank balances, and any outstanding Payables and Receivables on the company ledger accounts
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
  • Provide administrative support to operations such as processing of employee reimbursement claims, weekly timesheet hours, licenses and subscriptions renewals
  • Assist in facilitating and managing the company’s vendor rebate program by ensuring the updated contractual agreements, payment terms and discount rates of vendors to be reflected in the system
  • Retrieve financial records and supporting documents to accurately calculate and file corporate taxes including GST, PST, EHT, and monthly tax instalments
  • Prepare month-end recurring journal entries such as leases, prepaids, depreciation schedules, and other corporate expense accruals
  • Prepare a bank reconciliation report by verifying deposits, payments, and uncleared cheques to ensure bank balance matches the adjusted ending cash balance on the company’s book
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Controller and Director of Finance  

 

Skills and Qualification Requirements:

  • College diploma or higher in accounting, finance or related fields
  • Minimum one year of bookkeeping/accounting work experience in an office setting
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable principles
  • Strong computer skills & proficiency in MS office applications, especially in MS Excel including Pivot Table, VLOOKUP, and other financial formulas
  • Experience with accounting and ERP software such as Sage 300 CRE, TimberScan, SAP Concur, Smartsheet
  • Experience in construction management company and specific knowledge of holdback terms as asset
  • Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and as a part of a team
  • A positive attitude, with strong work ethics and a focus on accuracy, security and confidentiality
  • Great organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
  • Fluency in English

 

Salary and working hours: $26.11-$28.84/hour based on experience, 40hrs/week
