ABOUT THE OPPOTUNITY   We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator to join our dedicated team! We are seeking an individual who is not only comfortable and confident when it comes to working with children but also possesses strong leadership skills and demonstrates outstanding problem-solving abilities. In this role, teamwork is key, and the chosen candidate will play a pivotal part in managing the curriculum and implementing current programs. This position offers an excellent chance for someone with a passion for childcare to gain invaluable hands-on experience in the field.   WHAT YOU BRING –          Possess strong organizational skills, effective communication abilities, flexibility, a passion for early childhood, a positive outlook, and a willingness to work with all children. –          Have a solid understanding of early childhood, learning theories, and teaching strategies, with training in classroom management and guidance. –          Demonstrate professionalism in appearance, manner, and attitude. –          Provide high-quality care and develop creative programs that support children's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development. –          Engage children in diverse activities such as storytelling, singing, exploring local places of interest, and fostering creativity through art, play, music, and physical exercises. –          Participate in daily duties, including overseeing clean-up, assisting with toileting, managing lunchtime, supervising outdoor play, coordinating naptime, and providing assistance as needed. –          Build meaningful and positive relationships with both children and families. –          Collaborate with the team to establish a supportive and safe environment for staff and families. –          Record each child’s learning progress in accordance with the school’s guidelines. –          Assess children's abilities, interests, and needs, and communicate progress or concerns with parents and fellow staff members. –          Organize activities for school-age children before and after regular school hours. –          Offer guidance and support to other early childhood educators and assistants. –          Maintain confidentiality and privacy in a childcare setting by ensuring information are kept secure and treated with respect in a professional manner   QUALIFICATITONS –          Completion of a College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience (required) –          Valid BC Early Childhood Educator license (required) –          Minimum 1 year of classroom experience (preferred) BENEFITS –          2 weeks of paid vacation –          Company-paid Group benefits –          Dental care   Schedule –          8-hour shift –          Monday to Friday   COVID-19 considerations: All drop off and pick up are done outside the building. Staff and children are required to have a daily health check. We have Covid-19 guidelines in place and have been audited by a licensing officer.   Work Location: In person
