Conditions

Position: Early Childhood Educator

Full-Time position: 30~40 hrs /week, Permanent, Full time

Hourly Wage: $18~$21

Benefit: Extended health and Dental benefit after 6 month of employment

Requirements:

• Completion of a college program in early childhood education is required
• Licensing by a provincial association for early childhood educators (ECE) is required
• Some experience in childcare or related field is an asset
• Able to communicate in English

Job Duties:

– Provide care and supervision for children in an all day care program

– Develop and implement daily activities that support and promote the development of children

– Prepare materials and equipment for educational and recreational activities

– Assist with children’s individual behaviors and provide guidance to enrich children’s social development

– Assist children with daily routines such as toileting, dressing, eating, and sleeping

– Discuss progress or challenges of children with parents and other staff members

– Watch for, and remove, any safety hazards as well as maintaining a cleanly environment

– Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with other community service providers working with children

– Attend meetings and workshops to develop and discuss new teaching methods and program meetings
