We are looking for well experienced “Cook” for Windermere House located at 2508 Windermere Road Windermere, ON P0B 1P0 Canada.

JOB DUTIES:

• Prepare food consistently following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per check from servers.
• Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, ensuring not to over-prepare estimated needs.
• Date all food containers and rotate as per Windermere House standards, ensuring that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
• Accept special requests from patrons for menu items and prepare food.
• Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up. Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages. Assist in keeping the buffet stocked.
• Return all unused food items on the next shift to designated storage areas, ensuring that all perishables are covered/dated.
• Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems and control food waste, loss and usage per Windermere House standards.
• Operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat top grill.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Instruct kitchen assistants and helpers.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Prerequisites:

Education:                              No Formal Education required

Experience & Skills:                1 year to less than 2 years of experience

Language:                               English

Hourly Rate: $ 17.00 to $ 30.00 per Hour for 30 to 40 Hours per week

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent

Benefits: 4 % Vacation Pay,
