Type of work: Full time

Wage: $   15.65 – 17.00      /Hourly CAD

Work of Hours:   35- 40     hour(s) per week. 

Benefits: 

  • 4% of Vacation pay will be calculated on a semi-monthly basis, based on semi-monthly gross earnings, and paid out on your regular semi-monthly paycheck.
  • Free meal during working hours

Requirements:

Education level: Completed secondary education. Higher education is an asset.

Work Experience:

  •  Minimum 7 months to less than 1 year of working experience as a cook. We will provide necessary training.

Official Language: English

The successful candidate will be responsible for working conditions and physical capabilities and meet the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 months to less than 1 year of working experience as a cook.
  • Experience in Chinese/Taiwanese cuisine
  • Completion of secondary school
  • Extra experience or education and second language is an asset
  • Foodsafe Level 1 must be completed prior to starting work

Main Duties of Cook:

  • Ensuring the preparation, cooking and presentation of the food as outlined on the menu, recipe and guidelines
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, portioning, chopping and slicing
  • Prepare, cook, and plate complete meals and dishes
  • Advice on menu changes, food portioning, and estimate supply costs
  • Review all incoming products for freshness and ensure food quality with minimum food waste
  • Maintain open communication lines with all staff members and management
  • Order supplies and equipment
  • Direct and supervise kitchen staff and kitchen helpers
  • Schedule kitchen staff and kitchen helpers
  • Review inventory and keep records of food and supplies used
  • Ensure hygiene and sanitary conditions are met
