Chef de Partie Responsibilities:

  • Arrives to work on time, and in uniform to standard
  • Understands & adheres to all safety, sanitation & administrative procedures
  • Supervises on-shift Line Cooks, Prep Cooks & Dishwashers
  • Provides clear & timely communication to all Team Members throughout shifts
  • Completes daily & weekly maintenance duties
  • Prepares assigned station for service including sanitizing surfaces & equipment, stocking fresh food product & utensils, ensures equipment is on and working properly & safely
  • Cuts, slices, unwraps & prepares raw ingredients (e.g., fresh produce, meat cuts) for use in recipes
  • Prepares dishes to specification & timing standards during service, adhering to allergies and requested modifications as ordered
  • Inspects colour, consistency, firmness & temperature of food products to ensure food is cooked to specifications
  • Uses industrial mixing, food preparation & cooking equipment to prepare made-from-scratch food
  • Maintains clean station floors, counters, tools, cutting boards & preparation surfaces to ensure station remains sanitized throughout service
  • Checks food temperatures in holding units to ensure food safe temperatures are maintained
  • Restocks station as needed throughout shift to maintain station effectiveness for whole kitchen operational success
  • At end of business day, ensures equipment is turned off, broken down & cleaned according to proper procedures
  • Discards & tracks any food that is beyond its shelf life or specified for one-shift use
  • Ensures unused food product is stored using proper labeling and FIFO procedures to secure freshness of product & to eliminate waste
  • Cleans station floors, counters, tools, cutting boards & preparation surfaces to prepare for next shift
  • Provides real-time training & feedback for both new and current Kitchen Team Members 
  • Assists with weekly food inventory procedures

Chef de Partie Qualifications:

  • You have minimum 2 years of restaurant Line and/or Prep Cook experience (in a comparable full-service restaurant environment)
  • You may have experience Supervising staff in a comparable kitchen environment
  • You have strong organization & time management skills
  • You are passionate about food & culinary excellence
  • You are driven, you take initiative & you never turn your head from a standard
  • You know success comes from dedication & hard work, which you do not shy away from
  • You thrive in a fun, fast-paced environment
  • You are available to work days, nights, weekends & holidays in a full-time capacity (32+ hours per week)
  • You are able to make a minimum one (1) year commitment to our team
  • You may be interested in working towards your Red Seal
  • You May have a Safe Food Handling Certification


Chef de Partie Earnings & Perks:

  • $18.50 per hour + Tip Out (averages $3-7/hour – variable based on sales)
