We are looking for an experienced Carbon Capture & Storage Manager to join the team to help AKRON reach its ambitious sustainability goals of helping companies in Canada capturing up to 10 million tons of CO2 by 2030!

The successful candidate will play a vital role in our company's mission to provide top-notch engineering services to our clients. Your place of work will be Fort McMurray, Alberta and you will report to the Head of Decarbonization & Process Innovation.

  Job duties

  • You will provide technical expertise to CCS projects during pre-Feasibility, Feasibility, FEED and EPC stages.
  • You will assess and select optimal configuration of the CCS facilities based on CAPEX, OPEX and technical feasibility.
  • You will prepare or review engineering deliverables such as Heat and Material Balances, Process Flow Diagrams, P & I Diagrams, Cause & Effect diagrams, isolation philosophies, control philosophies, shutdown philosophies, HAZOP Studies & reports.
  • You will support operation of future Carbon Capture plants, including troubleshooting, plant optimization and maintenance and repairs during major shutdowns/turnarounds and coordination of test runs.
  • You will lead technical reviews, risk assessments and qualification of supplier designs and new technologies.

           

Qualifications

  • A proven track record of 5+ years’ experience in Oil & Gas or Chemical industries.
  • A degree in chemistry and/or Chemical Engineering degree is a must.
  • Experience working in project development, (Feasibility Studies or FEED) and execution; Commissioning and plant operation experience is preferred
  • Possesses a strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and design codes and standards.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of gas processing and gas treating units design and operation; alternatively experience on design and operation of distillation units
  • Experience with gas compression, liquefaction, transport, or Heat pumps is a plus
  • Experience in process and equipment simulation tools such as Aspen HYSYS is preferred.
