Built-up Flat Roofer

Description

ASEAL Roofing & Sheet Metal Ltd. is a roofing and sheet metal contractor based in Toronto and specializes in new roof construction, roof replacement and roof restoration and repair. Projects take us throughout the Greater Toronto Area and its outskirts. 

We are hiring built-up flat roofers. The positions are full-time, permanent during daytime hours with some overtime and weekend hours. Shifts start early.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• At least 2 years of experience working as a roofer in the institutional, industrial, and commercial (ICI) roofing sector
• Able to work independently with limited supervision
• Additional requirements for projects at schools, daycares, government buildings, police service buildings, courts etc.: criminal record check, police record check, CPIC, Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Ability to handle up to 23 kg (50 lbs.)
• Clean driving record check (abstract)
• Own Tools/Equipment: steel-toed safety boots, gloves
• Updated safety certificates (WHMIS, Rooftop Safety Training, Fall Arrest) are an asset but training in safety provided

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install, repair or replace conventional and inverted built-up roofing (BUR) systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel
• Install, repair or replace single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions (PVC, EPDM, TPO)
• Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications

SALARY

Between: $32 and $36 per hour (commensurate with experience) for 32 to 44 hours per week.
