Live-in Caregiver – Seniors

Description

One full-time position at 40 hours a week providing care for one male with Alzheimer’s.  Work from Wednesday to Sunday, 8 AM – 4:30 PM.  This is a live-in position.  Urban and scent-sensitive working environment.  Duties include:  administering medications, assisting with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, assisting with regular exercise (e.g. walking), assuming full responsibility of the household in the absence of the householder, laundering clothing and linens, performing light housekeeping and cleaning duties, providing companionship and personal care, preparing and serving nutritious meals.  Must be able to handle weight of 81-100 kgs (177-220 lbs).

Education Level

Caregiver/Home Care Worker certificate  or equivalent experience.

Required Skills

Experience of 2 to less than 3 years of caring for people with Alzheimer’s.  Physical capabilities include bending, crouching, kneeling, a combination of sitting and standing for extended periods, and working under pressure.

Additional Skills

Personal suitability assets include punctuality, a client focus, patience and compassion, exellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.  Must be flexible, show initiative, and good judgement.  Must be organized and reliable.  CPR and First Aid certfiicates required.  Criminality,  Vulnerable Sector checks, and proof of immunization all required.
