Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Experience: No experience. Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Work Setting: Hospital/medical facility or clinic. Health care institution, facility or clinic. Recreational facility/institution. Security and Safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation is available. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Equipment Operated/Used: Power tools. Industrial vacuum cleaners/power sweepers. Administrative and Coordination Skills: Supervise other workers. Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment. Janitors, Caretakers and Building Superintendents Specific Skills: Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings. Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies. Work with minimal supervision. Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures. Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens. Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs. Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse. Empty trash cans and other waste containers. Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs. Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair. Perform minor repairs on appliances. Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas. Personal Suitability: Initiative.
