ABCO is looking for experienced welders to join our manufacturing team! 

Located on the original site of ‘Camp Norway’, a Norwegian military training facility built during WWII,
ABCO operations are housed in a 42,000 sq ft facility and currently holds four distinct manufacturing
branches including Food Machinery, Marine, Environmental, and Industrial. Each division is managed and
supported by experienced, knowledgeable specialists. With 70+ years of experience, this locally owned
firm remains committed to providing our customers with the highest standard of quality and value while
ensuring innovative, customized solutions.
As an ideal candidate you will hold a Welding diploma and will preferably be certified by the CWB. You
will have 1 – 2 years experience in stainless steel fabrication. You will have the ability to read and
communicate in English and will be highly safety conscientious.
The successful candidate will be comfortable completing basic math calculations and will be motivated
to collaborate with team members while taking direction in a positive manner from the VP of
Manufacturing. The Fabricator/Welder will be flexible to work overtime, will hold a valid drivers’
license and will be available to occasionally travel. Preference will be given to candidates fully
vaccinated from COVID-19.
In this role you will be a member of a well-established team, gaining experience at a medium sized
company offering exposure to four distinct manufacturing branches. You will have the opportunity to
enhance your skills through hands-on involvement in a variety of on site custom engineered equipment.

Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Interpret welding process specifications

  • Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment

  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes

  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications

  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment

  • Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC)

  • Determine weldability of materials

  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment

  • Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products

  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment
