In-Situ Machining Solutions Ltd. requires four (4) full-time Field Machinists in Airdrie, Alberta.

Workplace Information: Work location may vary; travel will be required.

Location:  120 Gateway Drive, Airdrie, Alberta T4B 0J6

Salary: $38.00 to $45.00 per hour (based on experience)

Vacancies: 4 Vacancies

Terms of employment:  Permanent, Full time minimum 40 hours / week

Start date: As soon as possible

Employment conditions: Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, Overtime.

Job requirements

Languages: English

Education: Completion of secondary school, post-secondary, Machinist Trade Certificate, Journeyman Machinist ticket or equivalent

Considered an asset: First Aid, H2S Alive, WHMIS, CSTS2020, CSO, Fall Arrest, Confined Space, etc.  

Experience: 6+ years of experience

Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel, willing to travel regularly.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, physically demanding, hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, ability to work independently.

Work Site Environment: Outdoors, noisy, dangerous environments, Camp or Hotel.

Personal Suitability: Flexibility, Team player, Accurate, Effective interpersonal skills, Excellent oral communication. Ability to work unsupervised, detail oriented, repetitious.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables
• Set up and operate portable onsite machining equipment
• Follow safety and emergency procedures/protocols to maintain safe working environment
• Operate and set up machines to perform repetitive machining operations
• Maintain, repair and calibrate equipment, perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Modify parts and find innovative solutions to complex onsite machining problems

Additional Skills: Compute or determine dimension and tolerances of machined parts, or required for machining. Prepare reports and/or documentation for deviations from specifications or tolerances.  Ability to complete site specific and/or company specific safety training courses, as may be required for individual job sites and locations.

Equipment and machinery experience: Flange facing, portable milling, line boring, pipe cold cutting, stud removal and drilling, in line valve repair, laser measuring devices, and any other onsite machining skill, task, or equipment

Work Setting: Remote locations, various locations, as required.
