(Specialist Chef)
We are looking for well-experienced Specialist Chefs for “Toben” located at 150 Symes Rd York, ON M6N 0B1 Canada.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Oversees all aspects of catering kitchen operations, managing staff, production schedules, and event execution for both on-site and off-site functions.

Prepares high-quality food in accordance with event specifications, ensuring consistency, proper portioning, and adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.

Supervises and coordinates large-scale food production, optimizing prep schedules and cooking techniques to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.

Trains and mentors junior chefs and catering staff in bulk food preparation, plating techniques, and event service logistics to ensure seamless execution.

Communicates with the Kitchen Operations Manager and Chef de Cuisine regarding workflow adjustments, challenges, and opportunities for operational improvements.

Creates detailed prep lists, production timelines, and transport plans for each catering event, ensuring all ingredients, equipment, and supplies are properly allocated.

Monitors inventory levels for catering-specific ingredients and supplies, following established ordering procedures to maintain stock levels and control costs.

Manages the production of cold platters, hors d'oeuvres, and buffet presentations, ensuring visually appealing and high-quality food displays.

Leads off-site catering events, overseeing setup, service, and breakdown while maintaining food integrity, presentation standards, and overall event quality.

Evaluates and refines catering prep and execution techniques, implementing improvements to streamline operations, enhance food quality, and elevate guest experiences.

Ensures a professional, organized, and disciplined kitchen environment, both in-house and at event locations, fostering teamwork and efficiency.

Engages with clients and event staff professionally, ensuring a positive experience and addressing any catering-related concerns.

Participates in catering team meetings, contributing to menu planning, event logistics discussions, and strategic improvements for future operations.
Prerequisites:
Education: Some high school or equivalent.
Experience & Skills: 1 years to less than 2 years of experience.
Language: English
Hourly Rate: $34.10 to $ $37.00 per Hour for 30 to 40 Hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
Benefits: 4 % Vacation Pay,
