< Job Duties >

– Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems.

– Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.

– Fitting and repairing various household appliances.

– Inspecting and testing plumbing systems for safety, functionality, and code compliance.

– Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.

– Measure, cut, bend and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines.

– Repair and replace system issues such as clogged drains, faucet problems, broken drainage lines and so on.

– Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.

– May prepare cost estimates.

< Job Requirement >

– Completion of secondary school is usually required.

– High school, college or industry courses in plumbing would be an asset.

– 5 years of work experience(apprenticeship) as a Plumber in the trade is usually required.

Hourly Wage: $30 – $31.00 per hour.

Working Hours: 30 – 40 hours a week.

Benefit: 10 days or 4% of gross income for paid vacation per year.

Business Location: 3607 – 567 Clarke Road, Coquitlam, BC V3J 0K7 Canada.

Working Location: Various locations in the Lower Mainland, BC.
