WANTED: WOODEN TRUSS MAKERS
Location: Timber Tech Truss Inc., 80008 418 Ave East, Aldersyde, ABT0L 0A0
Salary: $21.00 / Hour
Vacancies: 2
Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, 35 Hours / Week
Start date: As soon as possible
Employment conditions: Overtime may be required; morning, day, weekend, flexible hours
Languages: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
Experience in framing, shingling, building, repairs, assembly line, truss manufacturing and building and experience in the use of power tools, small hand tool, nail guns and other tools are an asset but not a must.
Work Site Environment: dusty, hot, odours, noisy, outdoors
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: fast-paced environment, attention to detail, standing for extended periods, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, hand-eye co-ordination, combination of sitting, standing, walking, handling heavy loads, manual dexterity, bending, crouching, kneeling
Specific Skills:
• assemble wood products such as window sashes, doors, boxes, pallets, ladders and barrels
• Assemble door panels, trusses or modular components to make prefabricated housing
• Reinforce assembled products with dowelling or other supports
• Install hardware such as knobs and hinges
• Inspect wood products for conformance to quality standards
• Mark defective parts or products for repair
• Trim, smooth, and shape surfaces
• Make minor adjustments and repairs
• Record information on products inspected
• Pack items for shipping and distribution
