Job Title: Upholsterer (NOC: 63221)

Employer: Hagel Upholstery

Location:  309 Dawson Ave Penticton, BC V2A 3N5

Wage: $24/hr for 40 hrs per week

Vacancy:  1 vacancy

Terms of employment: Full time, permanent

Start Date: as soon as possible

Job Requirements:

Languages

• English

Education

• Completion of Secondary school
• Education or completion of apprentice program in furniture upholstering and repair is an asset.

Experience

• At least 2-3 years of work experience as an upholsterer

Duties:

·       Reupholstery of chairs, couches, restaurant furniture, patio cushions

·       Boat/marine and auto upholstery

·       Custom upholstery

·       Tack, glue or sew ornamental trim, braids or buttons

·       Discuss upholstery fabric, colour, and style with customers and provide cost estimate

·       Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces

·       Operate sewing machines or sew by hand

·        Garnish the bottom and the back of a seat with interoven rattan

·       Measuring and cutting leather or fabric with aid of design stencils

·       Installing foam and batting to the furniture framework

·       Stitching, gluing and nailing fabric or leather covering

·       Smoothing out imperfections

·       Conducting quality check on completed orders

·       Antique furniture and furnishings, Automotive interior, Marine cabin interiors and other furnishings, Walls and other interior areas (i.e. partitions), Furniture
