Minimum pay per week is 30 hours at the 25.96 per hour wage provided. Over that amount would translate to the commissioned rate which
is the higher amount.
Base rate pay is $0.44 per mile driven. If the worker drives 10,000 or more miles in a monthly pay period they are paid an extra $0.05 per
mile on all miles. If they drive a minimum of 9,000 miles per month incident free, they receive a $500 monthly safety bonus. They are paid
$40-$60 to load, $40-$60 to unload, $20 for any additional picks or drops and $20 to cross the border loaded. Vacation pay accrues at 3.85%
and stat pay is paid based on federal labour standards.
Hours (each week): 30-70
Location of work: Work locations may vary. Frequent or constant travel is required from the employee.
Education: Some secondary education is an asset
Work Experience: Any experience driving is an asset
Job Duties:
Load and unload goods
Obtain special permits and otherdocuments required to transport cargo on international routes
Operate and drive primarily long-combination trucks and straight-body trucks weighing over 4500 kg to transport general freight
Perform brake adjustments
Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation to transport goods
Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals, and brakes
Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transporting goods
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
Administer bills of lading and manually or electronically maintain log books
Communicate with dispatcher, other drivers and customers using communication devices and on-board computers
Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
Job Requirements:
AZ class license, class 1/1F/A License (semi-tailer trucks), or Driver's license (class 1 or A) is required
Air brake endorsement (Z) is required
Valid passport
Punctual
Clean drivers Abstract
Be able to pass a drug test

Handle up to 100 lbs
Own cellular phone, steel toes safety boots

Operate GPS and other navigation equipment
Documentation knowledge in acccident or incident reports, bill of lading, driver logbook, inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, trans-boarder documentation, trip reports

Willing to travel for extended periods, overnight and cross-border
